Sport plays an integral part of the make-up of the Northern Areas. Football, hockey, cricket, rugby, volleyball and athletics among many others are played at formal and informal level. The Northern Areas produced many sports stars including; Ashwell Prince, Cecil Africa and Daine Klate. The NAFA Easter tournament is one of the highlights on the Northern Areas sports calendar.
