
History and origin of its name
Arcadia is divided in two sections. Arcadia South is Bethelsdorp Extension 12 and Arcadia North is Extension 13. The name has been taken from a former province in Southern Greece which was proverbially a peaceful and serene landscape. Pretoria and East London have Arcadia suburbs as well.
