The four major faiths in the Northern Areas are Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Rastafarism. There are hundreds of churches including the Congregational, Moravian, Catholic, Anglican, Baptist and other denominations and independent churches. Notable minsters include, Father Salsone, Apostle Neville Goldman and Prophet Andrew Sauls. The Northern Areas is also home to oldest Congregational Church in South Africa, the Bethelsdorp Congregational Church.
